What should I pack in my tote-box for deployment to Iraq?

by lindaranch197 on May 14, 2010

So far, we've already sent over our "B" and "C" bags containing all military issued gear (except for our "A" bag and rucksack, which we will take directly to our MOB station). The tote is a big plastic box that we're sending over to Iraq that we can pack whatever we want in. Personal items, etc. Does anybody have a suggestion as to what I ought to pack in there?

Having been to Iraq three times, here’s what you’ll really need:

A portable DVD player or laptop computer with plenty of DVDs
Athlete’s foot cream
A good set of shower shoes
Any name brand toilettries you prefer (you can get generic stuff over there, though)
Pictures of family
Sun block
Some good books
A good headband liner for your K-pot
A custom shoulder holster for your M-9 (the drop leg holsters get old after a while)

Razors and shaving cream, your tooth brush, tissues, books, small little light, extra blanket, mp3 player? etc.
