It is really important that it has a pocket for a water bottle. Make sure the straps have some padding if you are going to be carrying it around a fair amount. *And as an added tip for the contents, make sure you always carry a role of toilet paper and a bottle of Purel with you wherever you go. I like the big backpacks i have a 1500cc backpack and I like the ones that have the structure tubing inside the backpack... more comfy that way.... Some that has lots of pockets so you can organise your stuff and make it easier to find things... one that has an opening in the bottom, middle and top so you dont have to take all your stuff out of your bag to get to the bottom.
