How to pack a backpack, some simple tips
If you believe it or not there is a right way and a wrong way of how to pack a backpack. Do it wrong and you'll see your backpack will soon get very very uncomfortable. This will then affect your whole trip, so it is a miserable experience rather than one of enjoyment and pleasure.
There are slightly different ways of how to pack a backpack with the type of backpack or hiking intends to do. For example, if you are walking or hiking in the rough steep ground most of the time that the balance is the most important aspect, then the heavy bulky items should not be packed for a lower better stability.
For normal everyday backpack and hiking trail where they are more likely to be hiking mostly level soil, non-bulky heavy things should be packed higher and near the back. This keeps the load close to your center of gravity and helps to maintain an upright position posture.
I'm not a big fan of having too much tied to the outside of the backpack. For me this not only looks messy, but these things can be lost or damaged. The only exceptions I would make would be my waterproof jacket and pants, so they are easily accessible in case of rain or showers during the day. Also used to tie my KIP-mat to the top of my backpack, but now I use a ¾ length inflatable mattress that goes inside.
My backpack has a Separate bottom compartment and this I put my sleeping bag, I use an output compression material which tends to do all this in a solid lump.It `s much better Use the backpack compartment as the material end in itself, then it will empty corners, and when the package is placed on the waist belt will help to the whole contour of his body, making it much more comfortable. My Kip inflatable mattress comes after my sleeping bag to help push everything in a good fit.
At the bottom of the main compartment I put my spare clothes, which I will not need during the day, such as spare socks, underwear, shirts, etc. on top of them go heavier smaller things, like cleaning kit, repair kits, personal items and anything fragile. Then on top of which is a jumper or fleece so that everything is cushioned between the two layers soft.
The tent is on the other, the poles are carefully slid in the package so that in one corner near my back. The actual shop I like to have packed in such a way that can be flat in the package and not rolled into a cylinder, this takes up less space and can be packed by more stringent. Besides this I put any food and water that I will need during the day and also a warm jacket.
At the top and side pockets get my first aid kit and food and water needed for the day and everything you need to use frequently. In this way each time to stop for lunch or just a quick mix of everything he had at hand is easy and need not go looking through the squad just found something.
All you have to do now is make sure the entire pack is comfortable and well balanced, this is best done when starting and around with it for 15 or 20 minutes. This should let you know if anything needs to be adjusted or moved. This is obviously only a rough guide and will depend on your personal preferences and the type of gear you choose take. But most important is that it feels like you who will be comfortable wearing it.
