Accommodation provided courtesy of Dom Clonen - International Man of Mystery. We were up from our lovely little guesthouse in Sanur and headed to the airport for an early flight. On days when we're flying we try and wear as much as possible (and practical) to keep the rucksacks as light as possible (and to get everything in them). So it's trousers instead of shorts, trainers instead of flip flops, and the cagoules in the day-bag just in case. So picture the scene in a rainy Singapore when your two explorers arrive - and in order to keep dry don the aforementioned cags - (thankfully - not matching) purchased for just such an occasion. Complete with massive rucksacks we get the tube to Dom's place - a purely residential area - and wander the streets looking very lost and very British - in fact very much like Howard and Hilda. (We'll try and find a photo for you in due course). Taken pity on by a passing cabbie - we were dropped at Dom's apartment free of charge. After a brief nap (by now almost compulsory) - we hopped back on the tube and headed down Orchard Road (the equivalent of Oxford Street - but with much wider pavements which makes for an altogether more enjoyable experience) for some ...
