Karrimor Predator Patrol 45 Rucksack Review with Pablo

by lindaranch197 on September 4, 2010

I take out the new Karrimor Predator Patrol Rucksack and put it through its paces. Will it outshine the Sabre 45? Thanks to Andy Litefoot for his assistance. Rucksack available from Lakelandbushcrft.co.uk

Pablo….mate.
I thought you’d fallen off the edge of the world….lol
Good to see you back.
The belt buckle is designed to be a singlehanded quick release. With a quick flick with your fingers its off. If you come underfire the last thing you want to be doing is fumbling about with a Fast-Tex type of buckle. The two retention straps inside the main bag are normall used for strapping down any equipment/sniper rifle that may be carried by a forward team.
Hope that helps.

I have to say I really enjoy your videos, from the product reviews to the gear you carry and use. I find the very informative and help me with my pack and carry items. Thanks so much Pablo. Keep them coming!!

Nice one Pabs – I have one of these and never realised you could tuck the waist belt away until I watched your vid!

Great looking pack. I had heard alot of mumers about this pack but this is the first time I’ve seen one. Thanks

Real nice looking pack.

The waist belt buckle is pretty much a copy of the Bergbuckle used on the Berghaus Vulcan etc…

One question I have with all of the sabres is if the back length fits you thn fine but if not then you’re stuck with a pack capable of carrying 60 ltrs of kit with an inneffective waistbelt…

prmaklpboo April 30, 2010 at 12:35 pm

@SASBergen Mike Dixon let me know that the belt buckle is for a “Quick-Ditch” in case you get into trouble.

@RDPproject Thanks RDP. MD has confirmed this as well.

@prmaklpboo

Yep appreciate that. The pack is designed for patroling in places like Afghanistan carrying link a radio perhaps ECM and other assorted kit. probably on top of Osprey and perhaps some belt order. For ‘bushcraft’ it’s probably a better idea to have some of the weight ( especially if you use it with 2 x PLCE side pouches) transferred to your waist. The Sabre 45 was ok as long as the back length fitted you. The ‘Predator’ seems to be the same.

Pablo, always like what you do there.. you should be on comission… I went off and got one today… been hanging around waiting to find a system that can be used for just a day trip or packed out for a couple of weeks…. Just the ticket, thanks for the good work…

Good review, although an additional bit of info that’d be welcomed is the weight of the pack empty.
